Ask God: The Book of Acts is filled with knowledge and wisdom. Today, we will continue our lessons from the Book of Acts, Chapter 2. Wherever you feel confused and need comfort, read the experiences of the followers of Jesus in this chapter and all of Acts. God had a plan for His followers then, and has a plan for His followers now. Seek Him. Good Evening Reader, Sometimes, I read God's Word and it has a special meaning. This is what I found in this passage. When trials arrive, it is good to go to God's Word to find wisdom and comfort. God's Word will help us overcome the world. God has a vision for each of us. Seek it and you will find it. Listen as the Holy Spirit speaks to you. God Bless. Elvin The Holy Spirit Leads Those Who Receive Him Receiving the Holy Spirit Imagine the scene in the upper room before the Day of Pentecost. The room was filled with fear and uncertainty. The followers of Jesus were gathered together, uncertain about the future and filled with questions. They had watched Jesus die on the cross. Would they be next? Would the Roman government come after them? So many questions. They had seen Jesus raised from the dead and ascend into heaven, leaving them with one command: wait for the promise of the Father. WAIT FOR THE PROMISE! What did that mean? They did not fully understand what was about to happen. Still, Jesus knew they would never fulfill God’s purpose through natural ability alone. They needed a Helper, just as we also need a helper, the Helper. The Christian life was never designed to be lived in human strength. God never intended believers to struggle through life powerless and defeated. Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would come to live within them, empowering them with boldness, wisdom, and supernatural direction. When the Holy Spirit filled the believers on the Day of Pentecost, everything changed. Fear was replaced with courage. Weakness was replaced with power. Confusion was replaced with clarity and purpose. The same Holy Spirit who filled the 120 believers in Acts chapter 2 is still available to us today. God desires for believers to be led by His Spirit in every area of life. The Holy Spirit teaches us, strengthens us, comforts us, and reveals the will of God to our hearts. As believers learn to receive the Holy Spirit and follow His leading, we begin to walk in victory, confidence, and a deeper relationship with God. But, how do we grow in the knowledge and power of the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit Gives Believers Power and Direction After the death of Jesus, the disciples were fearful and uncertain about the future. The One they had followed and trusted had been crucified, and they did not fully understand what God was about to do next. Even though Jesus had risen from the dead, the disciples still struggled with fear and confusion. They hid behind closed doors, worried about what might happen to them. Yet Jesus knew they needed more than human courage to fulfill God’s calling upon their lives. Everything changed on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came upon them. The same men who once feared persecution suddenly became bold witnesses for Christ. Peter, who had once denied Jesus, now stood before thousands and preached with power and confidence. The Holy Spirit gave the believers wisdom and boldness to carry out God’s plan. The Holy Spirit still works this way in believers today. God never intended for us to live powerless and defeated lives. The Holy Spirit guides us when we do not know what to do, strengthens us during difficult times, and gives us the courage to stand for Christ. When we learn to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, we can walk in peace, confidence, and spiritual power every day. And we learn about the Holy Spirit from the Word of God. Before entering the Promised Land, Joshua used a very effective method to discern God’s plan for leading the Israelites. He continually spoke the Word of God and meditated on the Word day and night so that he was careful to do all that the Word said. His example is good for us to use today. Believers Must See Themselves as One with Christ Many believers struggle because they continue to see themselves only through natural eyes. It is easy to focus on our weaknesses and limitations rather than on what God says through His Word. The Bible teaches that when we receive Christ, we are joined together with Him spiritually. The Apostle Paul wrote, “He that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:17). This means the life and Spirit of Christ now live within every believer. You may ask, “What do I do now?” The Holy Spirit will lead and guide you. Ask Him for guidance. As we renew our minds with God’s Word, our inner picture begins to change. We stop seeing ourselves as defeated, powerless people and begin to see ourselves as children of God filled with His Spirit. The more we meditate on God’s promises, the more faith rises within our hearts. Fear begins to lose its grip, and confidence in God grows. Jesus said in John 14:12 that believers would do the works that He did because His Spirit would live within them. This does not mean we become God, but it does mean His power works through us. When we understand who we are in Christ, we begin walking in greater faith and understand the authority Jesus gave us when He died on the cross. Real transformation always begins on the inside before it is seen on the outside. We Must Be Open to Receive from God God desires to bless His people, guide them, and provide for their needs. Yet, many believers struggle to receive what God has promised because of fear and doubt. Fear and doubt close the heart. When difficult situations arise, it is natural to want to control every circumstance and figure everything out on our own. However, living in fear and anxiety can hinder our ability to trust God fully. Fear causes us to focus on problems rather than on God’s promises. The Lord does not force His will upon us; He has given us free will, meaning we can say yes or no to God. He invites us to trust Him, believe His Word, and receive by faith what He has promised. Jesus said in Mark 11:24, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Faith opens the door for God’s power to work in our lives. Being open to receive from God means surrendering our fears, trusting His goodness, and believing that He is willing to help and guide us. It means expecting His favor instead of expecting failure. As we learn to release fear and place our confidence in God, peace begins to replace worry. The Holy Spirit helps us rest in God’s promises and confidently believe that He is faithful to guide and strengthen us. What Fills the Heart Shapes the Life The condition of the heart is one of the most important realities in the life of a believer. Jesus made it clear that what comes out of a person’s life is directly connected to what is stored inside the heart. Thoughts, attitudes, words, and actions are all shaped by what we allow to take root in our hearts. Because of this, we must pay close attention to what is being planted in our inner life. If our hearts are filled with fear and doubt, and we think as the world thinks, then our lives will naturally reflect confusion and worry. But when we fill our hearts with the Word of God, faith begins to rise, peace begins to grow, and spiritual strength becomes steady and consistent. God’s Word brings light into areas that once felt dark and uncertain. And most of all, peace flows throughout our being. This is why Scripture encourages believers to renew their minds daily. The world constantly pushes messages that contradict God’s truth. Still, the Word of God anchors the heart in what is eternal and unchanging. As we meditate on Scripture, speak it, and obey it, our inner life is transformed. A heart filled with God’s Word will naturally respond to life with faith, wisdom, and peace. In the end, what fills our hearts will always shape the direction of our lives. Elvin PS. Share your newfound knowledge with you friends. Reader, Hosea said his people were destroyed for lack of knowledge. Knowledge give believers and non-believers a choice. When a person does not know, they cannot choose.
