Ask God: Which laws are stronger, natural laws or spiritual laws? The Bible tells us that Spiritual Laws introduced the natural laws which make Spiritual Laws dominate. Even so, we must put Spiritual Laws into action using our faith. Faith is the force that activates Spiritual Law. Good Evening Reader, Knowing how God operates is crucial to receiving benefits from the Word of God. Utilize faith to activate God's laws. Hosea said his people were being destroyed for lack of knowledge. Do not miss the blessings of God because you do not understand God's laws. May God Bless you this day. Elvin The Laws That Run the World Introduction So many Christians are good people. They love God, go to church, and work hard. They are careful to do all the right things. They get up early, work their jobs, and watch every dollar. Still, at the end of the month, they feel like they are running on a treadmill: lots of effort, but they never get ahead. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” The Bible has much information about finances. Unfortunately, this topic hasn’t been taught as fully as it could be. In this article, we will see what the Bible says about God’s spiritual laws as it relates to handling our finances. The Word says that God will supply all our needs. In Philippians 4:19, Paul said, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” These are not idle words. They are the words of God, and they apply to you and me just as they did to Paul. For these words to be effective for you and me, we must understand God’s spiritual laws. How often have you seen a plane and wondered how such a huge machine can get off the ground and fly through the air? Large jets weigh hundreds of thousands of pounds. People in aviation have long understood how to overcome the law of gravity. They apply the law of lift. The law of lift supersedes the law of gravity. By understanding how the law of lift works, aviators can apply its principles to lift a huge machine into the air. God has given us spiritual laws that apply to our finances. Instead of applying God’s laws, we try to meet our needs by natural means only: our effort, our feelings, and what we can see and count. When that falls short, we get tired and discouraged. We even wonder whether God’s promises really work. Good intentions are not enough. You can intend to fly all day long, but you will never leave the ground until you put the right law to work. Here is the good news. God has not left us to figure life out on our own. Just as there are natural laws that govern the physical world, there are spiritual laws that govern the unseen world, and the spiritual laws came first. The Bible tells us, “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” (Hebrews 11:3) Everything you can see came from something you cannot see: God’s Word, spoken in faith. Spiritual laws are stronger than natural laws. They are the source of natural law. Every Part of Life Is Governed by Law Nothing in this world happens by accident. God built order into everything He made. There are laws that govern the natural world, and there are laws that govern the spiritual world. Natural laws are easy to see. Drop a pencil, and it falls to the floor. Step off a curb, and your foot comes down to the street. That is the law of gravity at work. Gravity doesn't care how old you are, how you feel, or what you believe about it. It works the same way for everyone, every time. But why does the law of gravity work? It works because gravity is a real force. The law simply describes how that force behaves. Without the force, the law would mean nothing. Spiritual laws work the same way. The force behind God's spiritual laws is faith. Faith is not just a feeling or a hopeful wish. It is a real spiritual force. The Bible even calls it a law. Paul wrote about "the law of faith" (Romans 3:27). When faith is put to work, God's spiritual laws operate exactly the way He says they will. Where do these spiritual laws come from? They come from God's Word. When God speaks, His words become law in the spiritual world. And His Word does not change or wear out: "But the word of the LORD endures forever." (1 Peter 1:25) Jesus showed us how important God's Word is when He was tempted in the wilderness. He answered Satan, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'" (Matthew 4:4) Bread is natural. It keeps the body alive. But Jesus said we need more than natural things to truly live. We need every word God has spoken, because His Word is the foundation of the spiritual laws that govern our lives. Remember what we learned from Hebrews 11:3. God framed the worlds by His Word. That means spiritual law came first, and natural law came out of it. The spiritual world is not weaker than the physical world. It is stronger. It is the source. This matters for your finances. If you only look at your paycheck, your bills, and your bank balance, you are only looking at natural laws. Those laws are real, but they are not the highest laws. God has spoken about your needs, and His Word is law. When you learn to put His spiritual laws to work by faith, you are tapping into the power that created the natural world in the first place. The Higher Law Overrides the Lower Law Let's go back to that airplane. When a large jet takes off, gravity doesn't stop working. Gravity is still pulling on every pound of that plane. But the pilot puts a higher law into operation, the law of lift. As the plane speeds down the runway, air flows over and under the wings, and lift begins to overpower gravity. Up goes the plane! Notice something important. The pilot doesn't do away with gravity. He supersedes it with a higher law. In fact, he must understand gravity in order to use lift correctly. God's spiritual laws work the same way. Paul wrote, "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." (Romans 8:2) Here are two spiritual laws:
The law of life is the master law under which God's children live. It is the higher law, and it overrides the law of sin and death, just as lift overrides gravity. But here is the key. A law only works when it is put to work. A jet sitting in the hangar with its engines off will never fly, even though the law of lift is always available. In the same way, God's spiritual laws must be put into action by faith. Think about salvation. The Bible says, "For 'whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved'" (Romans 10:13). Salvation is available to every person on earth. Jesus has already paid the price. Yet every day, people die without Christ. Why? It is not because the law of salvation failed. It is because they never put it to work in their own lives. They never called on the name of the Lord. The same is true of God's laws of provision. They are available, but they only work when we put them to work. Picture a farmer. Every spring he says, "I'm going to have a great crop this year." He talks about it. He hopes for it. But he never plants a single seed. When harvest time comes, his field is empty. His good intentions did not produce one ear of corn. The Bible says, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap" (Galatians 6:7). Jesus explained how faith puts God's law into action: "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says" (Mark 11:23). To the natural mind, this doesn't make sense. How can you have what you say when your eyes see something different? But Jesus said it, and His Word is law. When you believe God's Word in your heart, speak it with your mouth, and refuse to doubt, this spiritual law will work for you. Next week, we will look at the advantages of living in God’s system.
